and very unsociable but the fact is nothing could be further from the truth. Domesticated rats make clean, friendly, playful, quiet, inexpensive, low-maintenance and entertaining pets that are often described as miniature dogs.

Rats are suitable for children and adults alike. Rats are friendlier than hamsters, gerbils and mice. Pet rats are sociable creatures that simply love company. Rats can also be taught tricks, such as to
come when called and to hop through a hoop. Your pet rats can even be house-trained! |
We decided to get some pet rats about 6 months ago and went online to do some research about rats and after many hours of research we decided to NOT get our rats from a
pet store since we have heard and read online to never get rats from a pet store since you never know where the store got their rats. We decided to get our rats from a breeder so we went online and found two
that were highly recommended.
| We had to drive over 200 miles one way to get our rats from Tony Halm who is a Rat Breeder. Tony lives in Fremont, Ohio and you could not ask for a nicer guy and very
knowledgeable about rats. He gave us an extra rat for the long drive we had to make so we paid for 2 ($15.00 each) and got one FREE. |

Our Rats were born on November 19,
2009 and we picked them up on January 16, 2010. We would have picked them up earlier but Tony wanted to keep them until they were 8 weeks old to make sure they never developed mega colon which is specific to
rose gray rats.

We have had our rats going on 4 weeks
(2-6-2010) now and I must say they are great pets. At this time it seems Amadeus is the Alpha Male at this time. We thought Myles was the Alpha Male at first because he always
had Amadeus and Jerry pinned down on their backs when they wrestle but now it seems Amadeus took charge and is now the Alpha Male. Myles is the one who takes risks and
pretty much not afraid of anything. Jerry is a sweet heart but it seems he will never be the Alpha Male as he seems to be really scared of pretty much everything but maybe
he is still getting use to his new home. We decided to get a site up so we could let others know about our rats and we will be adding tons of images with links
